UT Dallas replaced (46) 1000W and 400W metal halide fixtures with RAB’s 225W high bay RAIL fixture with integrated Lightcloud™ lighting controls in their gym. Four RAIL fixtures have a customized battery back up for emergency egress lighting. In addition, 10 fluorescent strip lights were replaced with RAB’s LED linear washdown SHARK™ and enhanced with Lightcloud™, RAB’s wireless lighting control system. The new LED lighting and controls system enables the facility to adjust the lighting levels for different events and functions from a mobile device.

At 10 hours daily use, RAB LEDs last 27 years, eliminating maintenance and re-lamping costs. With the upgrade, the University of Texas at Dallas is saving over 70% in energy costs with a lifetime savings of over $243,899*. 
*Based on 6.5¢/kWh at 7 days a week and 19 hours daily use.
